Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade item.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item upgrades names. For example adding a Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level, but the required materials don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple items.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is an essential aspect of the game and can improve the strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrades. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to acquire reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique bonus that boosts the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.

The game also features various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character quicker, which enables you to advance in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of different sizes, have none of the elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
