Types of single buggies

A lightweight buggy is a great option for parents who travel frequently and use public transport, or are planning to go on a holiday with their child. They typically weigh less than 6kg in weight and fold up compactly that allows them to be easily carried in the overhead luggage compartments of flights. They are also easy to maneuver, making them ideal for city travel. They'll typically include a raincover as well as a sunshade too. Buying a single buggy

A new buggy can be expensive. Most pushchair packages that include bassinets for babies can cost upwards of PS700. This is a lot for parents with a limited budget.

The reality is that, absent a city with public transport at your fingertips or have a massive car boot and spend your weekend in muddy parks, most families end up buying two buggies. A sturdy, robust buggy that can hold loads, cope with rough terrain and expand with the family, and a lighter travel buggy to take on holidays and restricted spaces, like on public transport or crowded streets.

We suggest buying a single buggy that you like, and then selling it when your child is older and you have to upgrade to a double. You won't be stuck with a novelty you don't need.

Double buggy: Buying one

When purchasing a double-buggy there are a lot of things to think about, from the amount it will cost to the type of recline positions the seats offer. Also, consider whether you require a large basket or the type of suspension the buggy comes with. Think about the features you'd like to have on your buggy, such as sunshades and rain covers.

There are a myriad of double buggies on the market. The best one for you will depend on the person the person who will use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you're expecting twins or have an infant and toddler or a baby, you may require a pushchair that will be able to accommodate your growing family.
