The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are positives.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models this robot vacuum and Best Robot Hoover mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features to help you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum robotic cleaner and mop has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot cleaner vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, Best Robot hoover but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
