The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot vacuums with mop for hair tangled and large particles and clean them as needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots that vacuum and mop also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum robot automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. If you have a bigger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, best robot hoover as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
