Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This lets you enhance your gear without having to depend on costly trades or drops. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor better. They can be obtained by fighting off enemies, locating them in item spheres or buying them from karma dealers. You can also get them from equipment containing the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products, Upgrade Item upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.

The main purpose of Upgrade item components is to allow an item to be upgraded but they also serve other functions. They can be used to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be forged for additional bonuses. For instance, a created glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and a boost upgrade will increase the attack or defense property of a weapon, or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components to which the Best item upgrader can be updated. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded with that component. It is recommended to upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1.
