Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item upgrades are enhanced by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways through the use of Upgrade Item components or Upgrade Item by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be used in any equipment type and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment type specific to the type of equipment. To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of either.

The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or a rune. Many can be upgraded with suffix upgrades. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in communicating the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a specific amount. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you are enchanting it to.

The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.

A glyph added to an item upgrades may cause it to become unstable and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who are taking many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways like mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item upgrades window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item upgrades and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is a great way to upgrade an item upgrader. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective with ring items and Diadems, which have no other options for raising ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or a food item which would allow players to modify their builds without wasting time and effort. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade that increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will keep its iLevel but it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
