Path of Exile item upgrades (related)

item level upgrade upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade equipment due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They increase the stats of whatever item upgrade they are attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components inside them, using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the extent of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different effect. For example, some upgrades give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item will receive, as shown below.

A few of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of technology and Item upgrades magic which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a fee to use, which is indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant improvements in stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

Upgrading a piece of armor to its maximum upgrade level will greatly increase its defense values but the wearer must be aware that putting more weight on it can drastically decrease its speed and agility. This is why it is typically not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces above +9, because the increase in defense is usually not worth the additional weight and Item upgrades power costs of the upgrades needed.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. For instance an upgrade could increase the damage dealt by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of a rifle sniper. Some weapons have special upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of weapon upgrades require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by finishing side quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses, or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.

You can still do this, however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels, but good base scores and stat distributions. They will also have a better chance of bringing you the highest tier bonuses and blessings.

To increase their level quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates use to make them stronger. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, in which you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.

The Jeweler can enhance the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts can vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons or equipment.

All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to be able to get them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped by a different jewel of the same type without destroying the original one. You are able to replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.

It is normal to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. In addition to enhancing performance, the jewels create an area that is stronger than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots won't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your weapons and shields. These are a small perk and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold and scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. You can find them in the starter area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained through vendors and after the completion of road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player unlocks will be the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient while inactive. It can also compensate for the lack of a strong slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by the hero's best stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace in the near future. Also, consider items with desirable statistics that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item upgrade that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item level upgrade has multiple stats that you wish to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players, on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.

In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss.
