Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the required element or material required to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of item names. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. Engineers will employ a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, like the benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential aspect of the game, and it can boost the damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade item the original item or another similar item upgrade. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Sets
