WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

You can upgrade items your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item upgrader mod from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
