Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item upgrader kit's stats. Each upgrade increment results in an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases according to its rarity and.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a number of means such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. The amount of upgrade components required for a specific item level upgrade can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However, you can reduce the cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller, or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They move to grab the attention of the viewer and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also increase the retention of the message by triggering an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the item you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered as a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at once. This is useful for players who suffer many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Leveling
