The best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot vacuum that vacuums and mops Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detector) are both positives.

They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums with mop vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot cleaner uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they are.

For larger houses it's worth looking for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Also the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
