The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot automatic hoover

The best robot vacuum can sweep and vacuum your floors with no effort. It also leaves clean. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as a dirt detectors) are a plus.

Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

However, it's a good robot vacuum choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to change the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the home based on how dirty the areas are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
