The best robot vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Be sure to check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large debris and clean them as needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the degree of dirt they are.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Finally a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic vacuum and mop robot spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
