Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful in tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install and works well. The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
