Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great best automatic vacuum and mop cleaner too. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot vacuum with mop is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot vacuums with mop touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first best robotic mop and vacuum vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop that is high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. The robot cleaner with mop can also reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features which make it a good option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
